To intercool or not to intercool?
I have been priceing up intercoolers and blue silly cone hoses for my twin turbo 2.9 12v project, and realised how much money I could save by not running intercoolers. Its a silly amount of money and a lot of extra pipe work, for what gain?
So my question is, do I really need to bother using intercoolers for the figures i am expecting to start with?:
7psi, 220hp, thats about 70hp over standard power.
The way i am starting to see it, i wont need cooling until its running closer to 300hp. What do you guys think?

would think you deffo need one regardless. Use a cossie 4x4 one which you can pick up from around £25, thats what i am using in my turbo technics capri.

You could run water injection instead but you will need some sort of ICT control.

Re: To intercool or not to intercool?
you should run an intercooler, at any state of tune and boost level an intercooler will give you more power and the engine will be more reliable

OK thanks. It will be money well spent then.

I am using water cooled intercooler from Legacy turbo.
Have 20liter tank in the trunk and a circulating pump+1small heating radiator mounted under the car.

I also think you should run intercooler(s).
On the twin turbo Capri I was involved in we used two Cossie rwd intercoolers, they are really cheap here in Sweden and quite OK for a twin turbo V6 when you use two of them. Good flow to.

I think yes on any stage cause the compressed air from turbo is very hot so you need one...
cheers
