Advice needed , twin 40,s on pre/xflow pig to start when cold.
Need a bit of advice , got a 1500 pre crossflow on twin 40,s runs well but is just a pig to start when cold . I have even connected the choke up but it just seems to be too weak to fire up. Can take up to 10 to 15 attempts to catch when turning over. Give it 5 pumps of the throttle and it won't fire. Just keep pumping the throttle and eventually it will start.
The jet that sends fuel to the cold start device, are they all the same size is a larger jet even available never seen any reference to different ones but just feel that if it was a tad richer it would cure the problem. Gave it a sniff of easy start this morning and that helped.
Once it has run for 10 seconds it will start ok , warm start or hot start no problems.
ideally like most cars with twin 40,s should fire up with 4 or 5 pumps of the throttle . I have had cars with Webers before so I know what I should be doing.

I re jetted them and I know they are rich now and it's a pig to start now.
Is your battery and starter good?

If it doesn't start after 10 - 12 times, take the sparkplugs out and check if they are wet or not.
Also what ignition system do you use?

Yes and it has been a thought about standard pump , but tried once and prefilled carbs with fuel and it was the same.
