Re: What length floating shafts
Ok thanks Mick, I thought 765mm might be a tiny bit too long.

Re: What length floating shafts
i have a 54.75 inch ff atlas for sale at the moment and the shafts measure 740mm.full length 770mm shafts should give you 57inch overall so for 54inch overall i actually think 740mm minus 3/8 of an inch 9.2mm approx,so 740-9.2=730.8mm.Remember to assemble your hubs on to stub axles then measure the depth just to be sure, measure twice cut once .

Re: What length floating shafts
So if I had a pair of shafts that were 675 long I just cut down the diff spline end, obviously?
Or would that not leave enough spline lenght inside the diff?

Re: What length floating shafts
675?seems a bit short my experiance is most shafts come 770mm and will go down to 720mm with enough spline for side gears.i think quaife does shafts that would go to 680 maybe 690 i think that would be used on a baby atlas fully floater.

Re: What length floating shafts
Apologies... I ment 765mm... So I should get those to go down to about 730 ish leaving enough on them for the side gears...
