    busted pistons

    so what caused this then ?
    standard internally duratec, with unknown mileage, running throttle bodies
    top of the piston its clean, with no signs of knocking, plugs looked good too
    the other 3 pistons are in a similar shape, just not as bad

    Too high compression, rings picking up, incorrect ring gap.

    could just be fatigue failure from high miles, but probably helped a coked up engine either detonataing a bit or pinking like hell, in std form with miles on them these engines tend to pink would be even more so on throttle bodies especially if the mapping isnt quite right or its had some poor quality fuel through it
