    Yb coil pack conversion

    Hi

Anyone know what leads to use on yb coil pack conversion(ford coil pack)The original leads are very loose in the coil pack and car is going to be rallied so would prefer if they were a tight fit
    Thanks

Hey Mike. I made my own up from a set of new 4x4 leads and a set of ends suitable for the Zetec coilpack. The ends came from mr-retro-leads-plugs on Ebay, for the princely sum of about £12 for the four and the set of 9mm 4x4 leads were £28 from Matt Lewis Racing (they're even cheaper now):

It was pretty easy to do, although took a while, and they fasten very securely.

As with pretty much everything else I've done, I took a load of pictures, hopefully they'll give you an idea of how simple the process was:

The leads as they arrive - obviously you chop off the distributor end. You want to leave around 20-25mm of the inner core exposed so that the brass electrode crimps over it properly.

What lube did you use to slip the cable through the insulator?

It was just a can of generic white spray grease, not sure of the brand sorry.

That's a very neat solution converting the leads

My engine builder machined out the centre of the rocker cover which allows std Zetec leads to be used
