Kermit - The MK1 Escort abroad

So, I've been on here a lot more lately and I suddenly realised I didn't have a thread about my car (well, couldn't find one)

So let's start at the beginning.....

That's when I bought it, way back in 2011 from a guy who had stripped it down and rebuilt it to a great standard.

I trailered it back to Brize Norton and set about making it mine......
    Cheers

Re: Kermit - The MK1 Escort abroad

So, as soon as I got it back to Brize Norton, it got a wash down due to the weather.

At this point I already had a MK2 RS2000 but I didn't want to keep it as I already had a MK2 that was partially built(that means it was a long way from being built!) and I always wanted to get another MK1 after having one in my 'earlier years'.
So, the plan was to take the good items that I had fitted to the MK2 and put them in the MK1

This included a Pinto engine that Graham had built for me and which I was extremely happy with. It had powered the MK2 round the Nurburgring, surprising some people

So, the exchange was planned and the lift booked for me to start stripping/exchanging

Was having a look at the brakes that had been fitted.

I had converted the engine I was fitting to fuel injection running an Emerald ECU so I knew I was going to have to mount this in the car and sort out the wiring.

I wanted to set it up so I could just quickly/easily drop the engine out without having to worry about the engine wiring. So, like on newer car's, I set about fitting a quick disconnect plug and the above was the location.

Not easy cutting into good metal

    Car up on the hoist

I trial fitted my stainless exhaust system from 105E

It wasn't on there long before everything started to get stripped

    Cheers
