Ok, problem... the water hose out of the lynx2000 manifold will foul my crank breather hose, any ideas for a quick fix?

Fit a crossflow breather block so the hose comes up further over.

Can't you twist the breather block round on a pinto? They should give clearance. Won't you need a catch tank/old beer can now as well?

Just ordered an angled crank breather thingy from Burtons - will hopefully do the trick for now.

Re: The car formally known as 'mint'

Here is the new accelerator cable connected to the pedal:

Now, am I missing something, but I'm convinced that is nowhere near as good a fit as the original one was? Any thoughts?

Got the cable wired up tonight, need to undo it tomorrow to cut some slack out (it's a 1.5m cable designed to be cut to length). I have also ordered this http://www.burtonpower.com/pic_viewe...er%20Elbow.jpg from Burton Power today to try and get around the breather problem. Once that's all sorted, it SHOULD just be a matter of fixing some wires together but then...this is my car and nothing is ever that simple (apart from me maybe )

Matt stop being a fanny, thats how they are mate theres a ball and the clip stops the cable falling off so it will have some movement to it! the original cable was probably a plastic end which was tighter or something

    Started it up tonight!

Once the fuel got through it fired straight up and idled with no chock - not bad on a cold night with it not being started for 2 weeks!

Tomorrow evening I need to make my brake lights work and sort out the timing etc as Graham suggested

I'm hoping they will be able to have a quick fiddle with it on the rollers and correct anything that's wrong with it. Should be an interesting trip round the M25 at 8:30am

Re: The car formally known as 'mint'

    Well here it is:

Isn't exactly the neatest of installs...but it's purposeful. I've driven it about a mile so far (to a petrol station I should add :eyesroll: ) and I'm very impressed by it. We have adjusted the idle and the timing to the best of our ability on a dark driveway It's running rich because there is a distinct smell of fuel from the exhaust, but I'm hoping there will be some time on the Rolling Road tomorrow to sort little things like that.

Overall I am very pleased with it and I must thank everyone that gave useful advice etc. (especially Graham Bahr ) and also to all those that took the piss above

I wouldn't be TOO sure that it's running rich mate, you've just more than doubled the size of the induction on your car!!

Looks nice though mate, just make sure you get a filter on those asap.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting the little gauze ones that just fit over the end. No room for anything else and I don't want foam filters after speaking to Rich

Foam filters as in those sock things? No mate, they're not great at all. A panel filter would be best, but yeah you'll need to move your battery to the boot to do that really.

It all seems to work well and the car made 112bhp and 113lbft at the wheels which equates to about 130bhp at the flywheel...10bhp-ish more than before the 45s

Some more bits here to stop me dropping off the end of the first page again

Here's the Rolling Road print out...only a photograph on my phone I'm afraid, but you get the gist

Made 112.3 bhp and 113.1 lbft at the wheels if you can't quite make it out

I also noticed one of my headlights had stopped working the other day, so whipped the grill off for a look today...turns out the filament in them (both headlight and side light) hadn't just blown, the whole bulb had exploded...on both of them! Any idea what may cause this? I replaced them with new ones once I popped down to to local motor factors and used the car tonight with no more blowing issues...seems a bit odd
