Can anyone suggest somewhere I can get standard cossie rods? And how much should I be looking at paying?? Cheers

they are as cheap as chips these days, no doubt due to the fact you can by a set of steel rods with new rod bolts for £180 so used yb ones often show up on ebay £80-£100 a set
Are those steel rods for £180 any good? I don't know anyone that's used them but I have been tempted to buy them
That's a difficult one! Suppose it would be down to which set weighed less if they were of similar price and strength.
Personally I've never seen a rod fail purely attributable to the rod alone! Usually rod bolt, bearing or oil supply failure leading to overheating and fails - that's with named rods, cheap forged and OEM. I think any H beam rod could be considered safe - seeing forged aluminium rods used in a 10,000+hp top fuel engine always blows my mind and they fail for the same reasons!
That ZRP Racing crowd make various Cossie rods that look decent. Not £180 a set though, but no doubt all still made in China
ItalianRP had some nice looking stuff at Autosport at the start of the year..although again not at the very cheap end.

What are your new rods to be used in Rusty, NA or Turbo engine?
Turbo pinto, not chasing silly numbers but I do want about 250bhp. Running a lot of cossie bits and standalone ecu
I'd be amazed if you had a problem with std Pinto rods with only 250hp via a turbo.
But the Chinese stuff are cheap.
If buying new pistons, would also be an opportunity to go for a longer rod too.

I have recently sourced a new batch of 40 which are used but reconditioned and inspected by a well known tuning company that has been upgrading their customers cars and have a lot of items like this on the shelf. So I am saying that you should call the closest company like this and see what you can put your hands on
I've got a few people on the look out for rods for me. Two engine builder friends of mine recently gave two sets away....only if I was a week earlier. Kicking myself!
i use the maxspeedingrods in my n/a screamer it revs nicely over 8,000rpm which it shouldn't really do because the rod angle isn't the best and my engine has done around 10,000 very hard miles. i change the oil and filter in it very regular but apart from that it has been great.
Got myself some cossie rods now, a local motorsports engineers gave me some in exchange for some Ali door cards. RESULT!
