In a sense a Lotus Cortina with a twist. Give it the Lotus look, then when you pop the hood up a nice surprise.
Cool. what sort of power do they push out?

In standard form it puts out 350HP but i'm going to try and find space for a couple of charge coolers, this will allow me to up the boost.

Have re-fitted the liners, pistons and heads.

Head gaskets are £125 each !!! so dont want to have to take them off again....ever

Theres nothing cheap about this engine !!

got to get my head around the cam timming next, get that wrong and its bent valves all over again.

There are no keyways to align any of the pulleys.

All done by degree wheel and dial guage

just one question? how come your rebuilding the engine before fabricating and making it fit the car?

Basically ant. if the engine doesnt work. theres no point building the car up around it. cos i cant just go out and get another one.

If i cant get it working, i wont bother with the project.

I'm only doing the car so ive got somewhere to put the engine.

This is how i built a tube chassis around the 5.7 litre ford V8 in my sierra. with the engine box, exhausts etc all together

That will be a sweet conversion if you can get it all working
I'm interested in your Sierra that you built.. I'm putting a 351w into a 3dr 909 shell at the moment. Nothing so grand as a tubular chassis though.
If you have more pics or any tips that would be much appreciated.
I expect the tubular chassis helped you avoid some of the issues Im facing.. Steering rack clearance under the sump, brake servo clearance from the rocker covers (going to try a Mk2 esc servo to get round that) to name but two..
What radiator did you use?

outside will be rough, maybee with lotus badges, but under the bonnet i want it to look factory fitted, if thats possible

Still collecting parts, got a bellhousing from germany, ECU from Emerald. fuel pipes from Lotus (ouch)
Found out that AC Cars who build Cobras, built two in 2000 with Lotus engines, ones LHD in the states, the other is RHD in the UK

Got to sort out the ECU wiring, Unlucky for me Lotus used all black wires in their engine wiring loom ???

ALan did you check the fuel presure and was it all ok.

Hi joe,

yes it ran at 55psi fine.

No rad on it yet , so i cant run it up to temperature, but it starts and runs, so now i can think about squeezing it into the car.
went to bring it home yesterday and the brakes were stuck on, going round there now to try to free them.

I will drop the anglia tank in next week
