    Accelerator hard to push.

I just replaced a broken accelerator cable on my mk1 escort 1300 xflow and I'm nearly having to lift my arse off the seat to press it now. Cable is the same length/type. This may be a very silly question but should I lubricate the new cable?

somethings wrog, it shouldnt be stiff, most cables are nylon lined and should not be lubricated

Is it routed the same as it was before... Ideally with as few bends in it as possible really.

I took it out again and connected to considering friction and seems a lot better, thank for the replies.
