    Speedo problem.

    Hey folks,
The speedo in my mk1 escort 1300 xflow 4 speed stopped working recently so I replaced the cable but still nothing. Is there a gear inside the gear box that might have worn?
    Cheers for any info.

The speedo cable should physically clip onto the rear of the speedo.. Make sure its pushed all the way home.

Ya it's clipped in well at the back of the clocks. I'll take it out from the gearbox side and try again.
The drill is a good shout too, Thanks folks.

Remove the cable from the head, drive the car or put on stands and watch the cable to see if it's turning. If it's not then it's the drive if it is is the head.
