No its not based on anyone elses manifold as far as I know, we gave the exhaust company an extract from the Vizard, Tuning Twin Cams book, they couple that with their knowledge of cams and flow etc aswell as the constraints of the Anglia engine bay and thats what they came up with.

Nearly all the Twin Cam manifolds you see are 4 into 2 into 1 because of FIA Rules for Historics.

    BUT

There are quite a few guys, both racing and on the road who are running 711m based engines and dont have to comply to FIA rules so this is aimed at them really.

Fast Road really, like all our stuff, thats not to say it would be detrimental to run one on a standard engine.

Its just an affordable, good quality manifold that will cover most bases.

Anyone who is super serious will have a manifold custom made for their car based around the spec of head, valve sizes and cams they have, but we all know what that costs.

The development car was recently set up at Northampton Motorsport so we have a base line, the idea is to get it back there to do some power runs as a comparison in the next week.

Re: NEW Product - Lotus Twin Cam Manifold

I have an Anglia customer who'd love us to do a BDA one, but I really dont think the market is there for them.

I'd need a minimum order of 10 really and when you get a market like the Lotus Twin cam one for example, and I guess the BDA game will be pretty much the same, people are very set in their ways and it makes launching a new product very difficult.

You wouldnt believe the tosh I've heard from Lotus people...... most of it based on 30 years of pub talk and tuner-babble (the crap some engine builders spout to throw people of the track of what they are really doing)

So if you can find 7 or 8 mates with BDA's then its game on !!!

    Looks good.
How much extra poke does it release over a standard twink 4-2-1? Just curious you understand, my twin cam days I left with my flares, wide collars and mutton chops back in the late 70s!

For a BDA you will be hard pushed to better the original Boreham-Janspeed item. Out of interest is Janspeed still going?

Re: NEW Product - Lotus Twin Cam Manifold

Just had a full custom exhaust made and I can agree it’s very expensive.

The price for neils manifold are very competitive and look top quality

Anyone who is super serious will have a manifold custom made for their car based around the spec of head, valve sizes and cams they have, but we all know what that costs

Err excuse me.Why have something custom made when a tried and tested item is available off the shelf? Or am i missing something perhaps?

    Spot on Eric.

For an exhaust manifold to work at optimum performance there is so much to be taken into consideration from lenght of inlet tract to valve size, port size, cam durations & lift and then primary size, length, overall length of the system and as you say that all takes time and money.

I know at the peak of racing people have different manifolds for different tracks to give optimum torque and power in the places best suited to the individual tracks...

Our stuff is designed to be a good compromise at an affordable price.

Thats yet to be proven as the development car is waiting to go on the rollers, but my Zetec made another 8bhp over the Ashley that was on it.

So we're hoping for a similar sort of gain
