Mk1 Cortina tire sizes for the perfect look
I'm currently shopping for a new set of wheels and tires for my mk1 Cortina.
I'm after a reasonably angry looking vintage racer look, plenty of sidewall etc. Don't fancy the skinny or streched tire look.
13" is of course the perfect wheel diameter I'm after. But I'm unsure about the width and profile of tire.
Here are two different examples that I think look just about spot on:

Any good guesses on the rim width and and tire sizes on these cars?
Or maybe some members here have good pictures of their cars with good looking tires?

Re: Mk1 Cortina tire sizes for the perfect look
original rim widths would of been 4 or 4.5 inches unless it was a lotus, back then there was no such thing as low profile tyre. a mk1 might of even been on crossply tyres, but in metric terms
it would of been 165/13 or 165/80/13 if you want a period looking sideway height in a more modern wider tyre to suit a wider rim of around 5.5-6 inch 185/70/13 will do it

Re: Mk1 Cortina tire sizes for the perfect look
The tires currently on the car are 165/80/13, they look pretty "std" to me. Not exactly the look I'm after.
I'm gonna fit tires to 5.5 wide Ford RS steelies, IIRC they should have the same ET as Lotus wheels do, so should fit well.
Here's a pretty good example too:

I posted a question on his video about the tires size he's running, hopefully I'll get a reply. I would guess these would be 185 wide with either 50 or 60 profile tire?
Hopefully latter, because 185/50 seems to be quite hard to find nowadays.
