Shit BOA vs BOB cam Exchange issue

    Hi All
I am a little lost now so therefore screaming in the world "HEEEELP MEEE"

I just exchanged my cams BOA 2 BOB but no good result happened - probably some error by me.
So i was curious if you would not know what is wrong.
It was simple exchange BOA cams out and BOB cams in same order ->
BUT here i have already doubts - i was not able recognize the difference between exhaust and intake cam - are they same?
left and right side is different by code FN1501 and FN1502.

now the engine runs not fine - it shakes like crazy and no power at all - just the opposite - less power and at idle it goes offline.
when i spin the engine twice - the set mark where good 1 to 2 and 3 to 4 was pointing.

I feel like it is a little wrong or i should really use the BOB timing wheels - BUT when i had them in hand they looks like the BOA ones.

I was trying to reach Tony (MadOldBugger) but ford power is down and i lost his mail somewhere - anybody have his mail ?
    Or any advice for me?

fordpower has a temporary forum at http://fordpowerorguk.slarti.myfreeforum.org/ i think the issue though is that you need to use the BOB washers as well as the cams, best check with em on fordpower though as i havent done mine yet.

Re: BOA vs BOB cam Exchange issue

shaking issue was badly connected ignition cables due to coil pack mounted 180degre wrong.
timing was a little out - with BOB timing plated and TDC gauge i was able to set it correctly.
but still no big power - i believe now i ned to MAP the ECU but i am still not shure.
bought a new set of HEGOs and will try to exchange.
    new injectors are prepared.
    ---
in your case do make tension on the chain.
park the engine in correct possition - TDC and 1-2 and 3-4 marks pointing on each other.
    ---
BUT there can be an issue in older chain(longer) - in my case.

Re: BOA vs BOB cam Exchange issue

    hi all
some of you know my story regarding the cam exchange issue.
the fault was in the loom(injectors controll cable KO) and the rest was in bad timing disks received with the BOB cams.
sollution is to get the best engine loom you can get - better get new one but... i know... there is no new one.
and the rest was in bad timing disks - they where from an old engine and they had a small gap - but small gap in engine timing means a lot.
also an old chain means a lot trouble, same with old chain wheels and that small sh!t called chain tensioner.

so i had a good BOA engine and good BOB cams so i put them together and added also the fuel presure regulator with Vectra injectors...
so you can have a look now at the result....
its a small spin after a lot of time of work but i am pretty happy with the result.
