What gasket to use for a pinto with 93mm bore

    Bit of an oops moment...

In my quest for max cc (2.2) i went for 93mm pistons...
i forgot i was going to use 92.5..then i could use a victor reinz head gasket..

So the question is what head gasket to use...

I have read you can chamfer the piston tops and still use the reinz head gasket..

or burton do a 94.5mm tripple layer gasket..

i have found a group "A" cosworth head gasket at 93.5mm 1.3mm thick.( i dont no the crush height ..its a tripple layer ) .i assume i could use the cosworth head gasket on a pinto..

and adjust the block height to suit...

I like the idea of the 93.5mm group a jobbie...

    any ideas ...cheers mark

Back in the day when we ran 2.1 Pintos and N/A Cosworth engines on a 93mm bore it was like a minefield trying to find a head gasket suitable for the job. We did indeed use a Reinz 909 GP A Cosworth gasket, it was n't triple layer though. That did the job although the bore of the gasket was under 93mm.

In the end we located a 94mm one from John Wilcox engines, that one worked a treat and was still on the engine when the car was sold.

Have you checked to see if Cometic do a MLS one at 93mm for the Pinto? they can normally be obtained in a variety of thickness's.

I am glad you have managed to locate suitable head gasket.

Is this for the Pinto with the down draught head? Keep us all informed when the engines up and running.
