    Anyone got an injector cleaner?

Does anyone have, or have access to an injector cleaner - and fancies earning a few beer tokens? Injectors are Bosch greens if that makes any difference....

    Thanks in advance!

tones right, the injector cleaner does it ultra sonically ,so in theroy a jewelry cleaner should clean the injectors, you just wont be able to do a comparision between injectors or meassure actual flow rates. incidentally cleaning injectors usually REDUCES the amount of fuel they flow and the spray pattern actaully makes very little if any difference to performance

its because when injectors are getting dirty they dont shut off the fuel as quickly as when new

i see, so they wont actually flow more in total, but the open cycle is effectivly increased.

The machine I use tests the spray pattern and flow, not sure how you do that with a £15 ultrasonic cleaner !

its a cheap cleaner !!! i've just bought 6 brand new green giants from the states that are already matched, you pay your money and take your chances,
if he can't get a proper tester/wants a cheaper alternative I SUGGESTED A CHEAP IDEA !!! he says cleaner not spray pattern tester

Do not agree with this Graham.
If you have really dirty injectors then that dirt is on the little filter inside the injector blocking the flow.
I have cleaned alot of injectors, the only ones that really needed it were the ones in a car that ran out of petrol or ones that were lying around for a while in a garage ...
When I clean injectors I put them in a ultrasonic bath, then reverse flush them, then put them in an ultrasonic bath again and finally test them for a correct spraypattern.
Obviously this is alot of work and sometimes its better to just buy new ones.

Re: Anyone got an injector cleaner?

Interesting stuff chaps... Clint cleaned mine in the end - and although i have no real way of telling whether it made any difference - it was really just peace of mind for me as I found quite a lot of crap in the fuel filters... I was worried that (even though the after-pump filter was more or less clear) some of the crap from my tank had found its way to the injectors and would be causing problems... An injector going down could be pretty catastrophic, yes?

Anyways, they're back in, and I'm more than happy Cheers Clint!
