Oil pressure switch and front spring choice

    Evening

    Couple queries tonight

First - I am looking to install a oil pressure warning light. It's a pinto with a rs2000 instrument cluster so I have the oil pressure dial. Just wondering what the best way is get a light working for low pressure?

Second - it is currently one what i belive to be minus 2 inch springs on capri bilsteins. It's a little too low. Going to get minus 1 springs ordered. But what rating, 145 / 170 or 190 lbs?! Car will mainly for fun on the road, few auto tests and some track time.

    Cheers

Solves the first one I think - oil pressure t piece and standard oil pressure switch from burton. Unless better options are available?

Second one - think I'll go for 170lbs. No real reason behind it just middle of the road

Just make sure that oil pressure switch is of a decent pressure trigger point. In my opinion, there is little point in having an OPS that activates at a low figure like 5-10psi on a high revving engine - the damage will have been done by the time you respond to it. I have mine adjusted to 35psi IIRC (does flicker on at idle but I can live with that). However, a lower rating could be OK on a street engine. Just my thoughts....

T piece yes with a light switch that activates at 25 psi is what I used on my Pinto Rally Car.

As for Burton's I would only use them as a last resort due to their unhelpful attitude to customers.

170lb - 1 inch is an ideal starting point for a Mk2 with a Pinto or 190's if you want it a bit stiffer. With spring manufacturers there's no definition of std ride height, so it's a case of fit it and see what you think.

I've been trying to figure out where I bought the minus 2s from so I can get their minus 1s to hopefully ensure that there is an inch difference!

Burton have been alright with me so far. Hope it continues!

Will get stuff ordered today. Also looking at an omex rev limiter to be on the safe side of things!
