    Pinto sitting low

Fitted a Pinto into my mk2 with RX8 gearbox. I've obviously had to make a custom rear mount which fits nicely but the engine is pretty much sitting against the rack and cross member. Its on the alloy RS engine mounts with new 50mm rubber mounts, and it has the alloy RS2000 sump. I can't work out why, any ideas?

if the gearbox is mounting high, the engine will go down at the front. it pivots around engine mounts.
And yes, some spacers will help between bush and crossmember.
I need to do that on my cossy, otherwise it hits steering

Test the engine fit without the gearbox. The add the gearbox. Adjust the mount up after 👍

THe gearbox is up as high as i can get it as it sits quite low. I want to keep it in that position so I'll try spacers on the engine mounts. Thanks for the advice guys. Will let you know how I get on

i take it you have a large or auto tunnel ? its possibly the box position , that will make sump close to xmember at rear end.

It may be possible to pack the rear of the engine mounts with washers on each bolt to push them out slightly.
