So you have 40HP power loss from engine to wheels.
I believe that is big loss.

I think you may be right; at the rolling road I used my escort had 149.6 bhp @the wheels which was 180.5 bhp at the flywheel.that's 30.9 bhp transmission loss and that's on slicks.

    Re: mk2 2.1 pinto

i once had 80bhp transmission losses, it has to be said though at the time the engine was churning out 520bhp 40bhp would be a huge loss from somthing pinto powered

    Re: mk2 2.1 pinto

good numbers thought average power losses for RWD is around 20-25% so it dosnt seem that bad

when i put the lada on TnRs it had about 45% loss so it could be worse, especially as it only made 44bhp at the fly

11.5:1 with cast pistons? At what revs?

    Sorry for the late post.

    Re: mk2 2.1 pinto

Tommys rollers are known for reading a little high at the flywheel, my old vectra with an xe was 125ish at wheels and 174@ flywheel???? Had my escort done in landeilo in moselys which was 152@wheels which worked out as 184@flywheel. 148 at wheels is still spot on though
