    T9 Over-Stroking

One of the reasons I recently had to rebuild my T9 gearbox was that the blocker bars had fallen out and got munched up taking out bearings etc.

Is there a mechanism in the T9 gearbox to stop the gear lever moving the synchro hub too far thus allowing the blocker bars to pop out? I cannot see anything although the metal plate that sits on the side of the rear housing may have something to do with it?

I think that it is the top plate that has a U-channel welded to it that engages with a boss on the selector shaft that limits the movement of the selectors.

No that is there to keep the selector forks in alignment when not in use. As the selector shaft rotates (1-2 3-4 or 5) it allows the pin to move into the relevant fork and move it back or forth to select the required gear. What I am wondering is if there is any mechanism to stop the fork being pushed too far forwards or backwards.

I'm no expert but I think that you'll find that it also stops the selector forks going to far forward or backward. It is in a fixed position regarding fore aft movement, located by the u-channel in the lid, so the selector forks are limited by it. When I rebuilt my box I noted that I had to be careful when selecting gears to check it with the lid off as the selectors would move too far but when the lid was in place there was no need to be cautious.
