    Pinto assembly

    Which type of engine assembly lube/grease /oil is preferable for a rebuilt pinto with new mains/new big ends /rebore and new camshaft
    also do you oil the bores before first fit of the pistons and rings
    I know ,youve all done it a million times!

    Mains/big ends Joe Gibbs engine assebly grease
    Rings/pistons, if engine is being fitted soon after the build i use 20w50 mineral oil otherwise i use the Millers oils assembly lube.
    Camshaft/rockers i coat everything well with the kent cams assembly lube.

    I use that combination on every single engine i build and have done for years and it has never caused me any problems.
