    Rad trouble

I'm on a second ali rad now and that leaks too now there so expensive what else do people use/fit ,spoke to a guy today said he would make me a copper one which then could be repaired but didn't like the hose being on the same side top and bottom saying it heats up one side to much

    Rad trouble

The standard range from vw models are alloy cheap as chips and don't leak 😄
Loads of std rads are one side.
Ps I think 32mm from memory

as above, hoses on same side really are NOT an issue

polo one will fit without cutting the original mounts off so you can always go back.they are small but some apparently have more cores than others - search the westfield sites as they seem to use them so lots of info. its possible that they are all the same now tho. i had mine from northern rads, about 30 delivered at the time.

Yeah don't get hung up about using an alloy rad. Simply not needed. I run a blacktop in my Anglia van with an original Anglia radiator. It does have a slightly uprated core but the capacity is completely standard. I don't even use an expansion tank or header. Just bog standard 997cc plumbing and it runs perfectly fine with no leaks.

    Re: Rad trouble

Where / how are the ali rads leaking? They should be no more leak prone than a brass one! If its badly mounted and can vibrate its another matter - both will eventually fracture and leak! Plenty of alloy rads out there without recurring problems.
