Pinto on Weber 45 - reving high on its own
Morning guys,
Just took my Tiger with 2ltr Pinto on twin weber 45s in to work this morning. Car was driving great as always until almost at work. I was stationary and pulled away and when I went to change gear from 1st to 2nd, the revs went sky high and stayed there. I had to switch off the engine to stop this. Same again when engine switched back on. Out of gear and the revs went sky high. Throttle cable is not sticking and the throttle linkage on the carbs is moving freely and closed but revs still go all the way up on its own.
Any obvious things to check?
Thanks in advance

Re: Pinto on Weber 45 - reving high on its own
Are the butterflies being sucked open when it runs fast? If not, there's an air leak somewhere downstream of the butterflies - if that's the case either a leaking gasket face, or a cracked manifold?

If you have o rings between carb and manifold rather than misab rings then check if one has been blown / sucked out of position.
As above air pulling into engine if linkage all correct. You don't need linkage far out to cause it.
