What is the highest proven BHP from an N/A 2.1 pinto???? Purely out of curiosity......

pretty pointless really ?
500 bhp from an engine that lasts 5 min with a RR printout to "prove " ?
or 210 from an engine thats won a tarmac championship ?
which is a real proven figure ?
Proven, as in a dyno printout not "my mate Dave has a 500bhp pinto"! Im aware at maximum tune the engine won't last too long but what is maximum?? 230? 240? 250???
I've read that a Connaught built 2.4 pinto with a Warrior 16v head made 300 bhp so a 2.1 with an 8v head has to be a fair bit lower than that????
It's whatever you want a print out for 😊😉

well yes, thats probably stating the bleeding obvious!
anything over 200 is good going. talking to dave walker he said when they were circuit racing them in the 80's they could not better 215bhp, and they tried everything although back then everyone was claiming 230bhp but no one actually had that much.
Joes Ashton recently dynoed his 2.1 Mk1 at 230bhp. Nothing bigger from the HPE boys
my mates was 240
Blah blah blah, pub talk is cheap. Not like trying to get 240bhp from a 2.1 pinto.
no doubt it will be winning all sorts of championships then well, pub based ones anyway
i do realize i may be coming across a bit arsy (nothing personal) but these posts are just nonsense and often , like this one just turn out to be adverts for the usual crowd
wrong forum for the fanboys.
I'm asking out of interest. Feel free to check my previous post, nothing what so ever to do with advertising, just interested.
I sure the block is the only thing they used, I just wanted to know the absolute limit of of pinto in na form. Why do people get so funny about N/A pinto results???!!! If it were a turbo pinto, people would be turning that boost up until it goes pop just to see what numbers it would make!!!
I think anyone that can get 100 bhp per litre out of a 8V Pinto is doing something right. I believe 230 or even 240 bhp out of a 2.0 or 2.1 is just a step too far if it's dynoed on a decent static dyno with correct calibration. The engine would have to pull a serious amount of torque high in the Rev range to obtain such high BHP figures.
I read an article once by a Man with a lot more Brains than me, he explained the theory of air flow and speed, BMEP and many more things as to why it was impossible to achieve such high figures out of the humble Pinto. At the end of the day it all comes down to the Laws of Physics, you can't fit a quart into a pint pot!
Finally a sensible answer! You say '230-240 is a step to far', is this because it's not usable/safe power or its not possible? Have the guys in Malta cracked the 240-250bhp pinto??? They usually think outside the box.
i know nothing about pinto,s last time i owned one was 30 years ago in a RS2000 but in answer to the bigest power pinto i would think Millington had a go with one of there engines with a pinto 8v head on and injection, they sometimes come up for sale but i have no figures for you but it might be of interest.
