    Type 9 Syncro Questions

    Hi Guys,

Using a Type 9 5 speed in my kit car.
During the build I have decieded to strip the box down, check all the bits, change any worn bits etc.
Stripped it down without tomuch hassle but then read in the Haynes manual that you should "mark the gear synchronising hub and sleave relevant to each other" I missed this bit!
What is the correct way to assemble as they both seem completely the same all the way around so not sure why they should be marked to be lined up?
Also, the syncro rings, do they have to be in a certain orentation?

    Cheers!

I rebuilt mine last year and forgot that step as well. So far it's done about 3000 miles without any drama. I'm keeping my fingers crossed now that I have said that! If you have the Haynes manual description and the Ford manual you can work out how to put the rest of the bits back together.
