Maximum rim offset on standard arch mk2 escort?

I was wondering if anybody knew what the maximum safe offset you can run on standard arches? I've got the car lowered by an inch so I feel like I've left a lot of room to play with. Currently got the RS 4 spokes on which I think are +19 but was hoping to get away with -6?

If your using the same wheels get some longer studs and thick washers and pack the wheels out till your happy then get a spacer of that thickness.
