    The Wildest Escort Ever - Very Custom Mk2 Rally Car (Magazine Feature)

    A project we have been working on for quite some time. It has already done a few events and won some stages overall here in the USA. Running a standard V6 motor from a Ford Mustang. Motec ECU puts the motor at about 350hp and 300ft lbs. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the explaining. Car was built by the team at JRD Rallysport http://www.jrdrallysportusa.com

    Engine:
    3.7 liter Ford V6 with stock internals. Dailey Engineering/Ginetta Dry Sump System, BBK Throttle Body, Griffin Aluminum Radiator, Setrab Oil Cooler, and Stainless Exhaust with Dual JRD Full Flow Racing Catalytic Converters 350hp@6500rpm, 320Lbs-Ft@4300rpm. Tuned by Ed Senf of Engine Management Sales
    Control Systems:
    Motec M130 ECU, Motec PDM 30, Motec C127, Race Grade Switch Panel, JRD Steering Wheel Control Panel, Motec LTCD 4.9, Jay F. Yue Motorsports Wiring Harness

    Driveline:
    Saenz TT3-D6S 6 Speed Sequential Gear Box, JRD Shifter and Linkage, Quartermaster Flywheel and Clutch with Reverse Mounted Starter, JRD Custom Aluminum Bell Housing, Steel Drive Shaft, Strange Engineering 9 inch Light Weight Aluminum Casing with 3.89 Final Drive Ratio, Hollinger LSD Ramp Diff (from V8 Supercar), Speedway Engineering Bespoke Ford 9 inch Rear Axle with Floating and Crowned NASCAR Axle Shafts (to make camber and toe-in possible), Speedway Engineering Mod Lite Aluminum Rear Hubs

    Chassis:
    Original shell was scanned and turned into a Solidworks 3D CAD model to serve as a base for the new purpose designed rally chassis. 8 Point Roll Cage, Front Mid Engine Layout, Enlarged Wheel Houses and Shock Towers, Raised Tunnel, JRD Strut Brace, Quick Disconnect Front Nose Section, Seam Welded and Powder Coated, 10 Gallon ATL Fuel Cell with JRD Aluminum Enclosure

    Suspension:
    Suspension geometry has been calculated and designed using Performance Trend Suspension Analysis and Solidworks 3D CAD software.
    Front: Tubular Sub Frame with JRD Billet Lower Control Arms and Steel Compression Struts, Modified Mustang Uprights, Mustang Hubs with APR Studs, Short Escort Motorsports Rack, EPAS from Corsa B with Controller from Simtek, In-line Steering Quickener that can be altered between 1:1, 1.5:1 and 2:1, 45 degree Steering Angle and 1.5 Turns Lock to Lock (w 1.5:1 Quickener), JRD/Íhlins 3 way TPX with PDS and 198mm Stroke, Íhlins Springs, JRD Top Mounts
    Rear: 4-Link Suspension System with Watt Linkage, Íhlins 3 Way TTX 210 mm Stroke, JRD/PAC Racing Sway Bar, JRD Top Mounts

    Wheels/Tires:
    Pirelli 205/65-15 on Enkei 7x15 Rims for gravel
