Fookin thick metals chewin up all my cutting discs!
Lol aye i can imagine your gettin plenty stick!!Stevies Mk1s looking pretty decent! i just bought Lees engine out of his RS so that should be good enough for this car just now! Thats untill i scrape up enough pennies for the N/A Cossie thats gonna eventually end up in it!!

    hey Folks

Not been on here for a month or so, Kind of buggered my arm again by knocking the pins loose in my arm at work so now im on the waiting list for more surgery to get it fixed again!

So untill then i cant really risk hurting my arm more by working on the motor! Im totally itching to get stuck back into it but hopefully shouldnt be long before im back on the thing. Hopefully gonna get my wheels ordered pretty soon tho!!

Well after waiting fooking ages to get me arm fixed! its still not done so ive decided to get stuck back into the car again untill its time for me surgery!! good old NHS!

Ive got the tramp bar brackets tacked into place! They still need a bit of welding and finishing off but there where they should be! Ive got the back end stripped down and removed the axle, leaf springs etc!!

With the help of a few friends i got the car turned on its side ready for the heat gun and scraper to come out again! The floor actually looks as good as i remember it! which was why i bought the car!pretty much clean and solid!

Feels like ive been at this stage for ages, Finalyl got every little last bit of under seal stripped from the floor and now im going at it with the angle grinder with the wire brush attachment, and the drill with lots of different shapes and sizes of wire brush things.

Its cleaning up quite nicely actually and i think just another couple of days getting right into the nooks and crannies and the floor will be all completely fresh and clean metal!!

Once thats done il finish up little bits and bobs with the welder, 1 coat of rust proof primer, 1 coat of stone chip, 2-3 coats of Ford Magnum Grey, then all finished off with 2-3 coats of clear coat!!

Feels like ive been bare metalling the floor for weeks! All worth it though as it should stop rust coming back for a looooong time!

Just ordered my paint and lacquer for the floor! Got 5 litres cause im doing the interior the same colour. Ford Magnum Grey!

Just been finishing off some loose ends with the welder today. All i need to do is finish welding the tramp bar brackets on and a final sand down of the floor and itl be ready for primer!! Don't think il be so happy to see a coat of primer!!

After a few more days of bare metalling every little nook and cranny on the floor i finally layed a coat of primer on it today!

That primer takes a while to dry so il leave it for a couple of days to cure properly before i start with the seam sealer! Unfortunately im going for another operation on my bionic arm next wednesday so hopefully itl only be a couple of weeks before im working on it again!

Once im healed again il get a couple coats of stone chip on the floor then on with the Magnum Grey base coat and lacquer.

decided to pull the axle out and have a look at it today, Gonna get that stripped down and bare metalled so i can give it a coat of the Magnum Grey aswell.

Right! managed to get a little done on this the past couple of days!

My arm feels good now and stronger than ever so hopefully no more evil kinevil shit on my mountainbike!

As the primers beein sitting for a couple of weeks i thought i would give it all a good rub down with some red scotch-brite for a good key! Than i cracked open the first tin of seam sealer. Got all the areas that needed it a good brush seal and left it over night to dry!
Next day i got the car masked up, basically just covered up where i didnt want the stone chip to go! Not gonna mask anything when im painting the floor as ive still got the body prep to do anyway and its all gonna need a rub down! Just let it go where it goes!

Anyway, four bottles of white Gavitex stone chip later and the floor now has a good coat on it! gonna leave that a couple of days to cure right through and it will be ready for the first coat of paint!!
