MK2 RS2000 inserts dampers

Hi

I've got original RS struts, but I don't know which inserts I need. Now I've Koni's which also fit capri struts, but the piston is to short (see picture). So I'm searching for the original inserts (long) for my RS struts...

I really want to have the original insert, because I want the car to stand high at the front AND now the piston of the new Koni is just to short because I'm not able to compress the springs so much.
Anyone who can help?

In the picture: -left = capri 3L strut with OLD escort RS inserts in it...
-Right = escort RS strut with new Koni in it (which it obviously shorter than the old ones...)

Can you not pull that insert up more, if its not a gas strut it wont automatically push out.

Hi, no is impossible. Already found on internet that the difference between 18-2016 (original rs escort) and 18-1635 (fits escort + capri) is 35 mm, which is the difference seen on the picture...

Yes you're right, but the difference is 35 mm sorry..

Problem solved: bought Gaz adjustable insert dampers, explicit for use of standard springs. These have the same dimensions as Koni 86-2016 8610 sport (which are no longer available).
