    Zetec....no spark!!

    Into escort mk1...zetec 1.8 silvertop from 96 escort.megajolt and edis from chester sportscars.new crank sensor,new coilpack,plugs and leads.connected as advised-red to switch live and black to earth.light on ecu comes on.was told centre wire on coilpack MUST have 12v.nothing there....no spark at plug.
    Any ideas? Thanx

    yes 12v to ctr of coil plug , this is switched ign feed so if you didnt wire it then it wont fire.

    couple it up to your red switched live.

    Thanx dude. I got the kit suitable for rev counter and the centre wire from coilpack traces back and connects directly to white rev counter wire? Im reluctant to start cutting and moving wires as the kit is supposed to be plug and play and I dont know how things work. Dont want to burn things out!!! Looks like something is wired wrong🤔

    mk1 rev counter is inductive, what i would do is disconnect the rev counter and supply an ignition live to the centre pin on the coil pack

    All sorted....thanx guys.white rev counter wire needed to be connected to switch live via the white loop on back of rev counter(to get rev counter working) Fired up straight away!!
    Wasn't given all the realavent information but big thanx to Duncan at Chester sports cars for his advice while on a weekend away in Blackpool👍👍
