    Abandoned cars

There are various threads over the internet with pics of abandoned cars in them so I thought it was about time TS got one of its own!

Lets keep it to pics that you have actually taken or pics of cars you see/have seen, not pics nicked from other sites.

I'll start the ball rolling with this MK1 Golf spotted in Grenada:

There were countless cars left at the side of the road like that but the camera operator (Kel) thinks that pics of the scenery and wildlife etc are more important than cars?

I often walk past a Maestro, and a Scimitar too so I will have to take some pics and post them aswell.

These are about ten mins from my house, been there at least 15 years, i'm assured by the neighbour they are not abandoned and the owner comes to visit them sometimes, but nothin ever changes as far as i can see so i think he just dont want me in there digging them out.

    Re: Abandoned cars

the thing that gets me is crazy prices these people think they are worth when you enquire about them it's like they go on ebay and look how much mint ones go for then say that their car is worth that much. i have actually laughed in a blokes face when he told me a price for some battered beetle he had in his garden

Someone has come across the same situation with a Firenza, his persistance paid off and he eventually received a contact number. I don't know what the outcome was. So Martin,if you want one,do the same, leave note on the car stating clearly that you are an enthusiast and not a salvage dealer.

    Re: Abandoned cars

Just spent my lunch break on a farm less than 5 miles from my work in an old pig sty containing 2 mk1 granny saloons, a mk1 Escort 4 door, a mk1 escort Camper, a solid mk1 Escort 1300 2dr, a mk3 rs1600i, a mk1 Sierra 1600 shell and a race prepped 3dr cosworth shell. Plus lots and lots of spares inc an Essex with a janspeed turbo conversion, cossie diffs, 6 pot AP brakes etc etc.

To say I was as happy as a pig in shit wouldn't be more apt in the circumstances tbh Not the best of places to root around in wearing a white shirt No pics tho.

Is there any history with the 3 door race shell? or is it a back street jobbie?

I was told it was a genuine texaco 500 obviously it's not and doesn't have history but the cage is nicely done. It got a carbon fibre body kit and carbon fibre spoilers. Maybe I could get you some pics if it all pans out. More than likely not though

"Texico's" were built by eggenberger so there easy to spot..

Let me know if its worth a visit by PM...there's a large lemonade in it for you if it comes off
