Excellent mate. Looks quite at home in there
Do you have any pictures of the sump and the gearbox, mounts etc please?

A man who asks is a fool for five minutes. A man who never asks is a fool for life.
I shall sort some out next week, when all is finished.
Sump modified, bowl still at the front.
Gearbox mounts had to be cut off the shell and re-welded.
dude..remove the battery at the back. make more space at the engine compartment. later u won't regret if u want to work on something of the engine...
did u change the dash clocks?
looking good....
Good Luck mate...!

Well... she's in and running... And i am impressed with the motor. Very nippy, and revs... I don't have a rev counter, so i don't know, but it just seems to keep going and going...
Here's a little write up i did...
The clutch is hydraulic and needs sorting with either a twin cam pedal box, or make your own...
A high pressure fuel pump is needed
Sump kept at the front, bowl cut back a little to make it fit
It was cut just before the sump nut
My engine doesn't sit too close to the bulk head, about 2 inch away because...
...because it can't go any further back for the brake master, it's almost touching as it is
Engine mounts bolt to the cross member in the same place, no need to modify the cross member
My radiator cound do with moving forward a little, and it will be a mod for the future, as the fan is very close to the pulleys
And there she is...
I am going to fit 20v throttle bodies in the next couple of weeks, for 2 reasons:
They sound awesome, but more importantly (really??) they will allow the fitment of a brake master cylinder and servo.
Car is running on std ECU at the moment and i'm reliably informed, and I have seen, with a few tweeks, it will run on throttle bodies.
looks great m8
nice to see you have good
feet protectors on tooouch!
well , it fits better than i thought it would
and ... it looks at home in there
so ... are you now going to be importing the mods/parts needed to the UK ... $$$
what air filter did you go for ?
now that's a toyord...!
hope to see more supprising mod on her... let me know if u need any parts that is not available there.. there's alot toyota's fans down here. mostly, drift-hearted~
Looking good, bet it revs like a good un. Your mechanic guy has done a great job at the roadside Throttle bodies will finish it off nicely and give you that lovely old school induction noise
With regards to the fan, you could trim the fan shroud down and mount it in front of the rad, giving you more space around the pulleys, neater too. Thats what i did on my zetec mk1, just make sure the fan rotation draws the hot air out
Cheers Med. Will keep it in mind, but I think most things are readily available here.
Something I can't find tho, are some 'socks' for the throttle bodies... Any help over there, at a reasonable price?
Throttle Bodies should be going on this week...
The fan can't go at the front of the radiator Gazza as there is already a fan there for the air-con radiator... So I am stuck with it at the engine side... maybe i can find a slimmer one.
Looing great mate cant wait to see the throttle bodies on.
Have you had a look on the pipercross website? Universal Air Filter Socks?
http://www.pipercross.net/competition/products.asp
They have worldwide stockists so it may be of some use to you

it's time to update for new pics mate..!
Will do, this weekend.
The throttle bodies are on, but it's running like a dog at the moment.
CHeers for the link Deano, they are the ones, but a bit expensive!
Take a look at the web site Med... you'll see them...
Running like a pig at the moment... but here are some pics.
Bit dark cos they were taken in the underground parking area.
Notice the home made trumpets
Hopefully it will be sorted next week and i'll get some pics when it comes out...
looking nice in there
likeing the trumpets , did they used to hold beer at 1 time
Very nice mate. Throttle bodies look good, liking the trumpets too
Do you know what changes are made to the ecu to be able to run them?
A man who asks is a fool for five minutes. A man who never asks is a fool for life.
Well... it's back up and running on all 4 cylinders.
The plugs were and still are getting very black and corboned up... I think this is the problem despite the guy at the garage telling me that 2 injectors were down (how does the plugs get black if there is not fuel being injected?)
It was actually faster with the STD injection on
But I'm going to have the cam cover off this weekend, check the valve timimg and also have a look at the IGN timing, see if i can improve it.
I had her out in the sun light and got a few engine pics...
Looks nice... shame about the 'go'!!
are the trumpets size same as for weber twin 40...? my friend bought 2 sets from pipercross if i'm not mistaken at different orders but they still sent him the 40's. he asked for 45".
if it suits u, maybe i can ask him if they're still available.. then i'll bring them to Bangkok...
anyway, ur car looks awesome!!!
Cheers mate.
Don't know if they are the same as 40's, But the trumpets are bolted on.
The bolt holes are 73mm apart.
The internal diameter of the trumpet is 46mm.
See what you can do
Is that the standard fuel tank you have added a pump to?
If so what pump did you use, did you need to do any internal mods apart from the flange?
www.gulfpetrolheads.com
It's the std tank that is still fitted. It was a skyline pump that was fitted.
No internal mods were done to te tank...
Cool, might look into the Syline pump, should be good for a 280bhp N/A motor. I like the idea of an internal pump, but will have to find a suitable tank as I binned mine
www.gulfpetrolheads.com
the rampipes sold out.. sorry mate.. but i can try to ask a friend whom a levin freak.. see if he can help on sumting..
my flight ticket has been confirmed! see u and john on the 16th at Bangkok!
is this blacktop or silvertop throttle body? 111 or 101? i'll try to sort the trumpets over here buddy...
Hello mate, they are the silver top throttle bodies.
111 or 101, I don't know. I would imagine 101, as they are the smaller of the 2.
Let me know a price
they're around GBP110 one set but price is not confirm yet. i need to meet him. i'll take some photo first and u can consider it later...
I spy something beginining in T!
C,mon where are the pics?
superb thread, just read it all
looks just like mine does when im asleep
also i like the incredible ingenuity thats gone into it
car looks stunning mate, love it, some great work done there, love the seats as well, where did you get the seats? are they available in the uk?
Cheers.
New trumpets have been fitted (the real 4AG 20v ones) and it looks better, and sounds better. They could do with being a bit longer as they are a bit stubby... But better than the beer cans
Also revs to moon again. The problem was the throttle linkage hadn't been fitted correctly and was only opening less than half way... no wonder it didn't seem to have any power!!
Also i have had a carpet fitted, and my new 6 dial dash is in there now along with the dash top re-trimmed.
Will get some pics and post them next week... This weekend I'm off to Laos on the train.
excellent work
Proper trumpets now on the throttle bodies...
Carpet and 6 Dial Dash in...
rsminter, I'm not sure if this type of seat is available in the UK. They are made here in Thailand, and I had them embroid the RS logo on.
