looking good
looks well smart now it's got a bit of paint
excellent i like the flairs on the front wings
Looking good. What are the struts you have in there? i see they say SUBARU on the top? Cheers Chris
Cheers Guys.
Front struts are std mk1 drum hubs, modified to take toyota avensis discs and callipers.
Then some bilstein subaru front legs were sourced and fitted onto the hubs, then the legs were modified to take the adjustable 'coilover'... bit of a mismatch really!!!
Impressive metalwork there
Any threads on here with the bus or Beetle?
Fantastic work
Is that the place that was on here in a link with them rebuilding a split with flat panels and they hand form everything? It looks like it might just be with the ammount of metal work
The only thing i can see 'wrong' is the top corner of the wings at the front is too square.....but considering how they started and the work thats been done to them il let it slip
Keep going buddy not long now
Maybe the same place Dave... you got any links?
There are plenty of threads of the VWs being built at www.thaivwclub.com - but you need to register to view...
Cant remember the link for the life of me but it was a year or 2 back and did the rounds on all the forums. Loads of pics of a thai fella making all the panels to fix a bus most notably the lower section of the front panel, all the front floor and the whole rear bed in a van i think! and a bug firewall was in there too. Looks like the same place...but then i guess most thai garages that are into their vw's would look pretty similar!
Cars looking ace, not much left now at all from the pics??
Probably is the same garage TBH. As i remember i followed a link from one site to www.thaivwclub.com and i ended up arranging to meet the guy who owns it, and we are quite good mates now. Thats why i took my car to his garage...
Going over there tomorrow to have a look at the wiring - save myself a bit of cash But yeah - ALMOST there
Looking very nice
what a turnaround
...first thoughts were .. WTF.. has he bought
amazing looking car its turned out to be , and the colour

Nice work mate! Same colour as my old one!
Some really neat welding skills youve got mate
Looks amazing! what a massive difference,

Looking absolutly fantastic mate
Real men do it Sideways

http://www.billzilla.org/4agstock.htm
apparently ,this is the future
Engine is a Nissan A15. They use these engines for rallying out here, all steel bottom end and apparently in std form have 80+bhp.
We shall see what it's like... but will probably go the 4AG or mazda rotary route next year
Cheers.
Nice car!
Wonder what I'd cost to shipmy MG from Norway - Thailand - Norway
I bet it won't be far of shipping it having the work done and then shipping it back comparing to what it'd cost here in Norway (sill job £3000, but did find some one to do it excl. VAT for £1000).
67 TVR VIXEN V8
I think it would be cheaper to buy a heritage shell
Heritage shelles are £6000
67 TVR VIXEN V8
Damn i thought it would have been nearer the £4k of the mini shells
Even so, if yours was a bit more rotten then its starting to become viable!
Yes it surtainly would, but I'd wouldn't be legal here in Norway as reshelling cars is forbidden. Although no one would ever know or be able to figure it out!

New Indicators...
Painted the grill black...

EVERY DAY,S A LEARNING DAY
RS2000 Stickers on... at last...
I realise it wont be to everyones taste, but i wanted to do something different to black or orange stripes
Waiting on some other bit - lowering blocks - tax - exhaust... and she's ready to go
I like it, nice and different and very in your face
Also to pick (not sure if your bothered or not ) the stripes over the 1/4's are on the arch, probably because of new arches, could be and idea to trim off the stripe so it keeps off the arch if you get what i mean, only if it bugs you of course. That aside its still A* considering the situation and lack of spares
Cheers Dave... at least someone else says it looks nice, but then again you haven't seen it in real life and noticed the way it sends your eyes out of focus where the blue and orange meets...
Stripes on the the arch, didn't really bother me before, but now some one has mentioned it i might have to trim the stripe back
thats looking very sweet...like the blue & orange theme and love them seats...are they comfy?, cause they bloody look it....so are ya gonna tell us what ya spent on it inc. buying it? so we can cry with the prices we pay over this side of the world
mk 2 mexico 1978
mk 2 van 1978 (sold)
mk 1 van 1971
Cheers
Seats are comfy yeah... i wanted some recliners rather than fixed buckets so i could use it as a shopping bus not just a 2 seater...
Including buying the car, i have spent over 3000 gbp on it. Which i didnt intend doing when i bought it!!!
And it still aint finished, and it still only has a nissan A15 motor in it.
But the way the exchange rate has gone if i was doing it now, it would have cost me an extra 1000!! So i saved some cash there
New steering wheel fitted
looks great, love the work thate on this m8,are you over there perminent now then or do you come back now and then to the uk buddy
Once a year i'm usually back home to see the family. But the way the price of flights has gone don't know if i can afford it next year!!
hey heyyy buddy... finally.... there she is!
