    Supercharged Crossflow

We have run the dyno our supercharged crossflow with very good results. However I now need to change the inlet manifolds for the Jeveys to a short one. Any one any experience with inlet track lengths on supercharged engines.

    The engine specs:
Engine 1700cc Ford Crossflow – Originally Practical Performance Cars, Staff project

Lightened and balanced, Big valve head, Steel rods Forged piston’s 8:1 compression, HD push rods, Steel rocker post with roller rockers. Duplex timing chain, Fast road cam, Jenvy throttle bodies, Jenvy plenum, DTA ECU, Intercooler, Eaton E45 Supercharger with 10% reduction Pully, Simson Exhaust manifold 4-1 – Cam coated. Titan alloy dry sump, oil cooler and remote filter, -8 Aeroquip fittings and oil tank. Lightweight flywheel and clutch.

    Feed back appreciated!

inlet track length will make no difference because you are not ram or pulse tuning

    Re: Supercharged Crossflow

The engine was originally a project with Practical Performance Cars magazine.

The engine was re-built by Cameron Gilmore run on Drumoak dyno. It made 160bhp an 140ft/lbs of torque. However we had huge heat issues from the exhaust manifolds proximity to the supercharger. Also a number of pressure leaks. We will run it on the rolling road and expect to find another 40bhp.

The exhaust has now been Cam Coated and we have a larger intercooler. It should be in the car over the next few week. Don't expect to run it until the new year.
