Measuring them across the lobes should give a clue about lift at least

From the second pic, just looking at the shape of the cam lobes, the exhaust cam looks like a std low duration profile. (see how pointy it is at the nose of the cam lobe)

The inlet cam looks like a fast road profile. (much rounder profile at the nose)

Mine are Raceline 280 degree cams, pretty lumpy, not far off race cams

Yes i think the exhaust cam is standard ! so pointy ! I will measure it !
Dobuy with your 280°... Do you keep a good drivability for road use for example ? What kind of throttle bodies do you use ? Have you got a powergraph of your engine ?

    Thanks

No dyno chart, but car is very driveable, buckets of torque, but then it is a 2.3. Using Jenvey 48 Raceline supplied DTHTB and Emerald ECU.

Even though my engine is in a Caterham, I don't doubt it would be good in an Escort, as there is just so much torque, however engine still wants to rev past 8200rpm, which would not be good for my crank!

    Re: Duratec cam covers

Hi guys, sorry to change the thread but does anyone know where I can get a nice cam cover for my 2.3l Duratec to replace the ugly uneven one that comes with it as standard? Cheers Rob

do you still use a standard crank or a ranger one ? I got the ranger one with forged rods, and my limiter is at 7500T/mn. What about yours ?

Standard Ranger crank with SBD supplied rods and pistons (omega, I think). I have frequently reved mine up to 8200 or so, but have it set for 7900 at the moment.
Had no problems (touch wood) yet and still on standard bearings. The engine has about 6000kms of nearly all track driving on it.

Yep, TBH I have heard many comments on this forum about chocolate cranks, but I have seen no evidence of it myself. However there can be no doubt the 2.0 is better for revs.

    Re: Duratec cams

I've heard about the 2.2 forged crank from Raceco
Any way for me 8000rpm is enough.
Too bad that you have not any powergraph of your engine Dobuy...i would like to see the curve of torque !

I've found the refs of the cams :
Inlet is piper 10.30 mm lift 106°
outlet is piper 8.95 mm lift 104°

Does anybody knows the standard duratec values ?

    Re: Duratec cams

problem is there are numerous cam choices, depending on year, model and capacity. So no idea to be honest
