Need help with brake master cylinder

    Hello guys.

I need some help from the "pros". The thing is i got a 1971 1.3 escort GT rebuilt to original specs about 6 years ago. When i did the rebuild i had problems with the original Girling master cylinder, so i sent the master cylinder to a shed that does the master cylinder rebuild stuff . But guess what 6 years past ant the thing is acting up again, the pedal goes all the way down, and i bled it several times. So im tired of it, but i want to keep the original look. So seaching the ebay ive seen this rs 2000 brake master cylinder ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-MK1-...53.m1438.l2649 ). So the big question is, if your familiar with the product, will this fit? I´ve questioned the seller several times but he doesnt answer my questions, so maybe you whould know...

    Thanks in advance

You should have a single outlet cylinder originally all single outlet ones should fit fine BUT I would seriously think about replacing with a split circuit system, you can still make it look like it was meant to be there but its much safer.

Re: Need help with brake master cylinder

Thanks for the reply Clint. Mine has allready two outlets, and its a tandem system. My question was more about the diameter of the two outlets beeing the same. because some years ago i heard from some guy, that the rs2k Master had bigger diameter outlets. One thing that i can do if thats the case is, changing all the brake lines to that new diameter. Guess thats a risk i will have to take...

Not sure of diameter but they may be imperial on the Mk1 and Metric on the Mk2, I actually dont know, maybe someone else has the answer ?

What that guy probably meant was that a RS2 master cylinder has a bigger internal bore diametre.
