Round turrets into a Mk 2 4 door Escort
Hi All I am in much need of assistance and advice. I have a 4 door mk2 escort and have round rear coilover turrets to fit to it. I don't have the rear axle to plumb off (bought the car as a non rolling shell). I have done extensive google searching and all I can find is the thread on here Round Turrets into MK1 Escort.
I have emailed the guys at Rix Engineering but they have not gotten back to me.
I am sure I am not the first person to do this conversion in a 4 door??

Probably not what you want to hear, but the only way you’ll be sure the turrets are fitted in the right location (for your shell) is to fit the axle first, and plumb the turrets from there. Even if you can measure another 4 door you can’t be sure that turret location is correct for your axle/shell.
• Fit the axle and make sure its centre and square to the shell.
• Set your axle at its approximate ride height in the shell.
• Work out the turret location from the axle.
Can you borrow an axle maybe, you’ll only need it for a few hours?

I have the axle just don't have the old leaf springs to bolt it back in. I will have to see what I can do.

If you cant measure another car..for axle position....just take the centre of the wheel arch .plumb line down to centre..and use this position...i believe it will be nearenough...i asume your a street car going back on leaf springs...so the axle will be centred on these...and the coilovers will have room for a few degrees run out...i believe there are different fixing locations on the axle ...above ...or to the side....so there are options when you fit the axle...
but as said measure someones axle location....cheers mark
