Pinto Piston Removal
When pressing out the gudgeon pin, what do people use as a jig to hold the piston so they don't get damaged/cracked as I want to reuse them. Is a bit of heat on the little end worthwhile to ease the process or is this only necessary when installing them? Thanks

Re: Pinto Piston Removal
heat wont help as it will expand the pin and the rod.
i assume your going to change the rods? other wise theres no point in removing the piston, in which case the safest way is to drill a row of small holes in line with the pin into the small end of the con rod, this weakens it enough that very little pressure is required to push the pin out. the gudgen pin will be hard enough even if you touch it will a drill you wont damage it
