was there such a thing for a v6? type E would have been 4 cylinder, although thinking about it early 2.5 essex v6 might of been type E, if so it would be a bloody rare box these days

I had a Mk 1 Granada with a 2.0 Pinto engine with a 4 speed type E as fitted to the Mk 3 and 4 Cortina's with the same engine. Some people now wrongly refer to them as a Rocket box which they certainly are NOT. they were from a bog standard Reps car of the late 70's as were the gearboxes of all Mk 1 and 2 RS 2000's. The ratios are 3.650, 1.970,1.370.1.

The RS 1800 Gearbox was from Ford of Germany which was also fitted to the 2.3 Pinto engined Mustang fitted with the following ratios, 3.360, 1.815, 1.265.1

    Didn't the 2.3 mustang had a Borg Warner 4 speed (like the T5 but 4 speed) ?
