    Cleaning bike carbs

    Just bought a set of bike carbs to fit on st170 engine.
    How and what's best to clean um up before fitting . Advise please

    Find someone with a decent UltraSonic bath and give them a couple of dips - the float valves are usually suspect so build replacements into the work.

    We got an ultrasonic bath cleaner in work. Can i put the complete carbs in tank or have I got to strip um down first. Cheers mike

    ^ is the best policy although if completely submerged and full of fluid, the cleaning effect will work - just a lesser effect.
    If you do strip fully be sure to put some of the tiny bits and pieces in a mesh bag / tray as easy to lose!

    if you dont strip them the cleaning will be way less effective, sure the outside will come up great but its the insides you really want clean
