    ECU repairs

Anyone know anything about peugeot 307hdi ecus? I've just bought a 2002 model with a faulty Siemens ecu,I've sent it off to Kings Lynn Auto diagnostics (Peter Remmington) who claimed to be able to fix anything only to be told that my ecu is U/S and the only way forward is to buy one from a main dealer! The ecu is linked to the BCI (body ecu) so I can't use a secondhand one! A: is this true? B: is there anyone else that I could try? C: any other ideas?

I've already been charged £46.50 to diagnose what I already knew

try contacting stu at msd in blackpool as he deals with siemens iirc sells there injectors anyway

also if its fly by wire setup then your man is right as they have to be coded to the other ecu

you can use a secondhand ecu and take it to a main dealer to program it to the other modules but it will cost about90/130 pounds

I take it they aren't linked to the clocks aswell like the late vw and gm stuff?
You might end up needing to change more then the ecu's and key to get around it.

whats the actual problem ? isnt there a way of soft reseting the bsi and then "waking it up" by reaching into car and putting side lights on ??????????????

way over complex , thats for sure.

Actual problem is no pulse to the injectors! Snap on solus scanner said throttle pot faulty, cleared codes, now says no codes present, live data shows plenty of injector rail pressure, and rpm etc, there's nowt coming out of the ecu to the injectors!

its odd that it has same fault, that says to me that theres another issue ? maybe ? ive no idea what info these diagnostic programs/ devices give you but have you tried another pot ? ive got a "remote " type from 406 yo could try if it would help.
ive just broke an o3 406 hdi which i would guess is broadly similar in this dept??

could also be an imobiliser or "safety" type fault of course, hence its killed the inj.

Surely If it was an immobiliser or safety fault a different ecu/bsi unit would of worked?

I'd like to give another throttle pot/pedal assy a go;probably best to check part numbers tho

to my way of thinking, quite the opposite.
my logic is that if the "ecu" (lets simplify) is seeing a fault or otherwise that causes it to "shut down inj" then a new ecu will do the same ?

conversly it would be very unusual for 2 unrelated ecu to have same fault? unless its v common.

Ahh yes but when we scanned the car with the replacement ecu it came up with ecu faulty

Trouble is I don't think in french so what's logical to me may not be to them...............you must think french.

Anyway, what faults would cause the ecu to shut down injection?

    Re: ECU repairs

good question it would be something like no oil pressure but that should throw up a fault code i would think , the throttle pot would do it tho in " flood clear mode " ? ie cranking revs and wide open throttle. thats a megasquirt feature but im sure std ecu has similar and this kind of fault might not be seen by ecu as fault. try disconecting things ?
