Hi Kev,
Mine might be off before the end of the week so i'll get some detailed shots if it is
I think the big issue is that there seems to be no standard way of fitting the engine yet, so everyone's install could be slightly different - especially when you compared "straight" to "angled" installs.
I'm seeing John Beattie from Race Engine Design on Friday maybe, so do you want me to ask if they can do something for you? I also have a spare manifold so could leave it with them to mod if you like?
Cheers,
Paul.
Thanks Paul, some photos would be really helpful. I will have a crack at altering mine. Like you say, everyones is different, so if RED made one, it might still have to be altered. I had to cut more of the bulkhead away at the weekend as I have the engine and box hanging in the engine bay at the moment. I tried phoning you at the weekend before doing any welding incase I f**ked it up !(Will keep the questions to the forum.)
I know the engine has to be tilted at 12 degrees ( oil cap horizontal) but is the front of the engine higher than the back - hope so or the box is really high in the car.
Also, is your crank pulley bang in the middle between the inner wings as when mine is in the middle, the sump pan is over the off side steering rack mount. - bloody close - and the engine sits really high.
Thanks mate,

Hi mate i think yukspeed is doing them, he is also doing other bits for this conversion. hope this helps.![]()
Sorry I missed your calls at the weekend mate - was working at the rallyschool on Saturday and left my phone!
I'll probably be in the garage tonight so will try to measure and answer your questions. I do know that if you look along the bottom of my dry-sump pan and the gearbox, that it looks as though there is an angle dropping backwards. Having said all that, the engine and gearbox are both very tall and still do sit up very high still...
Text me your number and I can call later....
Cheers,
Paul.
Kev - let me know if you got the pics, otherwise I'll transfer them over to the PC and can post them up here...
Cheers,
Paul.
Paul,
Got the pics showing the sump pan / steering rack clearance & position.
They will come in very handy. Hoping to get the mounts welded on Wednesday night, then sort the box mount. Got a bloke lined up to do the 15" tubs and arches. He has done a beautiful job on his Mk2 - made his own independant rear suspension etc running 6 speed sequential box etc.
If you could take a few pics of the way the manifold has to be done that would be good mate.
Thanks again.
Kev.
Looking at fitting one of these engines to my striker, just looking for all the bits i may need to gather.Anyone know where i can get a bellhousing for a type 9 and what clutch etc do i need to use ? I may need to dry sump it as it is mainly a trackday car, are these available this side of £1k?
You could try Des Moore for the bellhousing....

Mike at Race Engine Design is worth speaking to about the dry sump (and everything else about S2000 escort installs). If you speak to him please mention that I recommended him to you...

I hope that helps,
