    Perspex windows MK2

    Has any one fitted one piece polycarbonate windows to rear doors on 4 door MK2 Escort, any details on fitting, pics, was wondering if to increase thickness due to size, thanks

    Yes did this on mine using 6mm polycarbonate. Started by cutting a template from card then used a jigsaw with a fine blade to cut it out. Tried numerous ways of fitting it but ended up with the bottom edge "inside" the door using the window seal clips to hold the base then bolting and bonding the rest using M4 buttons and sikaflex. Then I bonded some rubber extrusion on to cover the bolt heads etc. Finished the inside off with a strip of wood covered in carbon film shaped to fill the gap and make it look better! Couldn't think of a better way..

    most people use 4mm thick, which is msa minimum thickness allowed
