I have a set of Woosner pistons connected to Cossie rods. They are in good nick and were replaced last year with longer rods and shorter pistons. Cameron Gilmour does my engine builds and I kept them as spares.

    Pm me for price

Don't think these will be suitable, Need to machine piston height as its for a 2.2 build. Cast pistons be fine.

forged would be better, if your going to the trouble to build a 2.2 why saddle your self with weak pistons which will be in trouble anything over 10.5:1

You are going to need a stroke of 80mm to get 2172cc with 93mm pistons, how are you going to achieve that, by offset grinding the crank and using Diesel rods? If I were you I'd rather go for a set of forged pistons and Cosworth rods than std ones. Then at later date you could put a decent head and cam on it and go for serious power.

if you use x/flow rods you wont have to shorten the piston at all, in fact you may need to deck the block a bit

ok, but then i think you have a problem, diesel rods are longer than yb so machining cast pistons to suit will leave them dangerously thin in the crown, plus you will have to modify the pistons to retain the pins as diesel rods have floating pins

I thought reading old 2.2 threads on here that cast piston machined with diesel rods and 80mm offset ground crank worked well?

dont know, ive never seen that, ive only ever used cast pistons with x/f and low compression height forged with diesel rod

    Re: 93mm Pistons

    Interesting read.
If using an offset grind crank and 1.6 Fiesta Diesel Rods, what forged 93mm pistons are recommended?
    Thanks in advance.
