help me please !!!! type 9

hello all. i have shortened the gear linkage on a type 9 for my buddy, all ok. went to refit rear tail housing and it wouldnt go fully home. had a look and it was the layshaft not fully home.... pulled it out to see why .... needle bearings in the way all loose.... so my question is how do i get the buggers back in ?
ive never stripped a gearbox and dont want to mess my buddys up.... i believe its fitted with straight cut gears if that makes any differance to my problem.
    thankyou for your time

unless you strip the box you probably wont get them back in, what you do with needle rollers is use grease to "stick" them in place before pushing the shaft in.

Get yourself a Haynes for Sierra/ Granada both use the type nine. You will need a puller for 5th gear. The only awkward part is getting the rear layshaft bearing outer cage to slide out the case in order to drop the layshaft so you can get the mainshaft out complete with the intermediate case.
