MSA Blue Book (the rules and regs)

Heres a link to the online version of the "Blue Book" which is the rulebook for competition cars and entrants for motor racing in the UK.

    http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/conten...sp?article=646

The rule's contained in the book are comprehensive, but the series that you may want to compete in will have Supplemental Regulations (SR's). So always check with the series/championship that want to compete in.

If you fit a camera , say on the rollbar --- how do they need/want it fitted ? Any particular equipment OR just safe and secure ?
I've got a DRIFT HD720P which has a 6mm threaded insert underneath and I've made a carbon fibre mount 75mm x 20mm 5mm thick , housing a 6mm bolt dead centre , for the camera to screw down onto . The wings of this 75mm piece of carbon will be either large cable tied around the rollbar left and right OR jubilee type clamped ---- what do we all think , ok or fail scrutineering ?

H'mmm , ok I'll just mount it as described above and see what happens . At least it's a proper solid mount , even if self made , not just a strap around it . It's sprinting by the way , usually circuits plus Gurston hillclimb.

I decided to make the mount on my rollbar but on the day I actually mounted it on the dashboard using the powerful clip/stick device provided in the kit . It wasn't in the mount at scrutes as I forgot but got clipped in before lining up . My son then used the remote to switch it on just before the off --------------- it wasn't noted after that but I'll stick it in the diagonal mount on my rollbar next time. The good thing with the DRIFT is you can swivel the lense around to vertical regardless of the mounting camera angle .
