Angry Difference in price of parts from different places? Quality?

I’m after some adjustable top mounts for my mk2 escort, parts look the same but with double the price tag?

is it the quality of them or greed of another company? The 1st is also available on eBay same company same proce from motorsport tools.

Difference could be in the quality of the spherical bearing used.
On the ebay listing it says "picture for illustration purposes only".
    Seller is Demon Tweeks.

Different name, same company, same parts, same prices, same ebay-page-design.

I have never bought anything like this from Jjc or tweeks, and now u have mentioned it I can see how the websites ect are the same. Do tweeks sell quality? I don’t want to be buying them again in 12 months when the cheeper ones fail, tweeks and jjc both say aurora bearings? But nothing eles, motorsport tools say “ race quality m20t Teflon lines.

The ebay add from JJC says the parts are made by GRP4 Fabrications but the photo is of the same part that Motorsport Toolls sell. You will know the companies that make quality stuff: Gartrac, Rix, GRP4 Fabrications . Why not buy directly from these companies?

FYI I was looking at a few bits last week using google search & found an item from Tweeks on Ebay & when I checked thru there website a day or so later it was about £10-£15 cheaper.

Demon tweeks have been using the trading name JJC to sell for years now. I think I first spotted this a decade ago. A lot of companies did this when selling on the web was pretty new - remember B&Q trading as DIY.com.

Demon Tweeks (and JJC) would be unlikely to sell an item and use another sellers photo. By this I mean, if this product is made by GRP4 Fabrications, they would buy from them and use their photo. They would not have a cheap copy commissioned from China, and then continue using GRP4's photo.

In my experience, you're unlikely to get bad quality from Demon Tweeks, but you will certainly pay top price for it!

Kencourt Ltd t/a JJC Race & Rally

    Demon Tweeks

Sorry but I'm not convinced. Different companies, different addresses, different postcodes. Unless in turn Demon Tweeks owns Kencourt...

Legally, they are two different companies, but Mr Jon Minshaw is the director of them both. Also, Ms Jacqueline Smith is joint director and Company secretary for both.

Ok well after my quote I did wonder to myself who might be on the Directorship of both companies.

Thanks,Demon tweeks do sell our GRP4 Fabrications products and use our photos, which is all good. Some other companies have a habit of buying 1 product from us,taking a photo of it for use on their website, and then get our part copied in some far way country.

We all suspect this from time to time but proving it is hard as a customer,

I went with the GRP4 top mounts in the end.

Ha Ha yes, i had a mate who sadly passed away, involved with speedwell he was into tuning parts big time in the 70's at one trade show they exhibited a whole range of bolt on anti roll bar kits for things like anglia's imps, A40's etc. shortly afterwards a rival company produced there own range of identical products, sold shed loads, but got a shock when they all come back as not fitting! all the stuff my mate had on display had been intentionally made to incorrect dimensions!

stan stephens two stroke tuning ace told a similar story in his book, he got wind that a rival tuning company was buying one of his engines, but secretly though someone else, so he ported it wrong so it never gave the power it should and that companies version of that engine was never any good
