What drive of torque wrench to buy?

Im replacing my knackered nm torque wrench for a ft/lb one to rebuild an xflow....screwfix has a choice of a 3/8 drive with some good reviews or theres a 1/2 inch drive.... does it matter which one i buy or are both suitable?

All my sockets are 1/2 drive..i find them stronger....but im sure both do the job....i would of thought the 1/2 was rated higher..

I have two, look at what your wanting it for and what range you need to work in, I have a 3/8's one thats does a lower range than my 1/2 on, but I don't think I would trust the 3/8's for torque on head blots, used to use the smaller one for my motocross engine mostly

depends on the quality of torque wrench, ive got several, two of them are 3/8 drive one goes to 75lb/ft the other a fair bit more, but they are snap on.

but if your at the cheaper end of the market your probably better off with 1/2 drive, most 3/8 drive are not man enough for headbolts anyway

If your only doing cars would go for 1/2 in drive. It should cover all you need. It's one thing I've never skimped on always used snap on.

and a 1/2 drive is probably longer which gives better control when pulling up to higher numbers

Print a conversion table and stick it on the wall,

I think mine does both, does it have the same scale if you turn it round / over?
