    Firewall mk2

What is the best way to create a fireproof rear bulkhead in the rear of a MK2 Escort non turreted, is it best to panel in front or behind the shock absorber crossmember, also how to seal joins and edges neatly, any pics of yours? thanks

It may depend on what fuel tank you've got in the car. If standard probably in front of the crossmember, but if you've got a central mounted fuel tank then I'd be inclined to put the firewall behind the crossmember, it'll make it easier to access the top shock mounts from inside the car.

To seal it you should use an intumescent fireproof sealant.
