Mk2 Escort - Tuners near Glasgow

    Hi,

Had the car out for first drive, fun!!! But seems to be an issue as bogging down at 3K and through the rest of rev range. Fresh fuel and pulled plugs, bit of carbon but okay I think, fitted new fast road ones, same symptoms.
Spoke to Andrew at AP that set up the carbs not that long ago, shame he is so far away. Bit of a mystery...Any good known tuners around Glasgow area? Pinto 2.1 running 45s

    Cheers, Allan

Just to say I there is no question over the car being set up correctly by Andrew. Trouble is it has been sitting since Nov, started now and then but never driven till now. Anyone any ideas? Wondered if the fuel pump is faulty or carb could be gummed up. It wasn't sitting that long.

The main issue with it bogging down turned out to be the carb. Two clamping screws had either been removed or fell out of 1 & 4 cylinder allowing the venturi to rotate and block the fuel spray. To add to that some of the lifters had slackened off too and they spotted a leak at the water pump, new gaskets and correct length bolts, fixed that as well. Also installed a fan controller. done away with manual switch, temp sits bang on now!

I well recommend them!!! Pulls great now! Likes to be revved! Just tyres and tracking to sort out next.
